Flake Soil is a single-fermented, carefully prepared hardwood-based substrate developed for the rearing of stag beetle larvae (Lucanidae).
During the preparation process, the structure of the wood gradually breaks down, making it more accessible and easier for larvae to utilize as a food source. Its carefully prepared consistency allows larvae to develop in a stable environment throughout their extended larval stage.
Flake Soil is particularly suitable for breeders looking for a reliable, ready-to-use substrate for rearing stag beetle larvae. It is also used in our own breeding system.
Furthermore, it is the primary food source for
saproxilophagous animals.
